We will pick you up from your accommodation Riad/Hotel where you are staying in Marrakech or from the airport. We will leave for the High Atlas Mountains passing through Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m altitude), then arrive in Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou which is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 1986, and has also been the backdrop for many movies including “Gladiator”, “The Game of Thrones”… After lunch, we will continue the way to Ouarzazate the Great Gate of the Desert with several stops for unforgettable photos of the Atlas Studio the largest studio in Africa, the Great palmary of Skoura and the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual Festival of Roses. We will pass through several Berber villages before we get to Boumalene Dades where dinner and overnight is at the Hotel.
Today, we will drive to the stunning landscape of Todra Gorges (15km from Tinghir), where we will make a short stop to enjoy the fascinating views of the rock walls. On our way to the south, we will have the chance to see many oases and palm groves such as the great oasis of Tinjdad and the spectacular palm grove of Touroug where we will have free time for lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will head to Merzouga Erg Chebbi passing by Erfoud with a stop to visit a local fossil craft workshop, and then continue the way to the impressive sand dunes of Erg Chebbi (Merzouga). After having a warm shower, you will enjoy drinking a cup of minty tea as well as tasting a Moroccan dish in dinner followed by some inspiring Berber music. Night in Hotel.
In the morning, we will begin our trip with a drive to Khamlia village lived by black skinned people originally from Mali to enjoy some Gnawa music. Afterwards, we will drive through an off-road to visit a nomad family and discover their lifestyle. Then, we continue our way until we reach a shade of a typical “Acacia tree” to have lunch which will last for one hour and a half. In the afternoon, we will head back to the Hotel to have a cup of minty tea and relax to get ready for the camel ride to the camp in the heart of the desert, that will take around 1h: 30min enjoying the beauty of the dunes and attending an incredibly memorable sunset in one of the highest sand dunes in the desert for a high satisfaction and doing some sand boarding. After the dinner is served, you will enjoy some amazing Berber music with different dances under a starry sky. Night in Berber nomad tents.
We will make sure to wake you up early in order to watch the spectacular view of sunrise from the top of the dunes. Once again you will have the chance to enjoy the camel trek back to your Hotel. After showering, you will enjoy a special Moroccan breakfast. We leave for Rissani where locals gather in a huge Souk for trading all kinds of crafts, food and animals. After that, we will head to Nkoub passing through Alnif and enjoying its panoramic views of oases and palm groves along the way. After having lunch in a local restaurant in Nkoub, we will continue the way to Ouarzazate crossing Draa Valley, the longest River in Morocco (860miles). Arrival in Ouarzazate ‘the Hollywood of Africa’, we will spend the night at the Hotel.
After breakfast, we will set off for Marrakech via Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains with a stop to visit a cooperative of ARGAN Oil and learn about its benefits. Before the tour ends we will make sure to drop you at your accommodation in Marrakech.
