Fes to Marrakech 3 Days Desert Tour

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane  –Azrou – Midelt  – Ziz Gorges – Merzouga

We will begin by picking you up from your Riad/Hotel in Fez and depart of Fes to Marrakech 3 Days Desert Tour towards the desert through the amazing landscapes of Morocco via the Middle Atlas Mountains and passing by the beautiful city of Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco. On our way, we will make a stop in Azrou to enjoy playing with monkeys and Barbarian apes in the cedar forests and taking photos. Driving to the south through several villages, you will have the opportunity to see nomads living in tents by the side of the road.  

You will have free time in Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue the way towards Merzouga Desert passing through the panoramic views of Ziz Valley and its gorges with stops to enjoy some memorable photographic shots along the way, and then we continue the road until we reach the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi (Merzouga). You will be warmly welcomed by a cup of minty tea and relax to get ready for the camel ride to the camp in the heart of the desert, that will take around 1h: 30min enjoying the beauty of the dunes and attending an incredibly amazing sunset in one of the highest sand dunes in the desert and some time for sand boarding before we head to the camp. 

After the dinner is served, you will enjoy some amazing Berber music with different dances under a starry sky. Night in Berber nomad tents.

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

We will make sure to wake you up early in order to watch the magnificent view of sunrise from the top of the dunes. Once again you will have the chance to enjoy the camel trek back to your Hotel. After taking a shower, you will enjoy a special Moroccan breakfast.

We leave for Rissani where locals gather in a big Souk for trading all kinds of crafts, food and animals, then Erfoud with a stop to visit a fossil craft workshop. Later, we will drive through the great palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad before we get to Todra Gorges, a favorite place for mountain climbers, we will have free time for lunch in a café surrounded by rock walls and then enjoy the spectacular sceneries of its marvelous canyons with several stops for pictures. After lunch, we will drive through Dades Valley where you will walk along the valley and see fabulous rock formations.

After that, we continue until we reach Boumales Dades to spend the night in a fancy Hotel.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Today, we will drive towards Ouarzazate passing through kelaa M’gouna known as the Valley of Roses and very famous for its annual Festival of Roses, the road of the thousand Kasbahs, and the spectacular palm grove of Skoura with several opportunities for pictures along the way. Later, we arrive in Ouarzazate known as the Hollywood of Africa; lunch is at a restaurant near the exotic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.

After touring this UNESCO World Heritage site, we will set off for Marrakech via Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains with a stop to visit a cooperative of ARGAN Oil and learn about its benefits. Arrival in Marrakech late afternoon, we will make sure you reach your accommodation before the tour ends.

    Day 1: Arrival at Marrakech Airport

    Arrival to Marrakech airport and transfer to the Hotel/Riad to leave the luggage, then start the tour. We will explore the beauty of Marrakech “the Red City”. We will make sure you visit the important sightseeing in Marrakech, including Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian Tombs and Bahia Palace.

    After lunch at restaurant near Jamaa El Fna Square in the heart of the Medina, we will wander the fascinating souks and enjoy the rest of the day. You will have the chance to experience the Moroccan lifestyle during dinner in local restaurants in the heart of Medina. Overnight at the accommodation.

    Day 2: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

    After breakfast, we will pick you up from your accommodation Riad/Hotel. We leave for the High Atlas Mountains passing through Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m altitude), with stops to enjoy the panoramic views of small Berber villages and take photographic shots.

    Then, we will head to Ouarzazate known as the Hollywood of Africa. After lunch in a local restaurant, we will continue the way through the great palm grove of Skoura until we reach Kelaa M’gouna or the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual Festival of Roses. Following the way we will get to Dades Gorges where we will spend the night in a fancy Hotel.

    Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga 

    After breakfast, we continue our way towards  the fascinating Todra Gorges (15 km from Tinghir), where we will walk through an enormous walls of great beauty that reach almost 300m high, and offer a great opportunity for mountain climbers to enjoy the views of this stunning place.

    Afterwards, we cross the palm grove of Tinjdad, the palm grove of Touroug, towards the city of Erfoud with a stop to visit a local fossil craft workshop. After that we drive the way to the golden dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

    Day 4: Merzouga – Khamlia – Nomad Family – Erg Chebbi Dunes

    In the morning, we will begin our trip with a drive to Khamlia village lived by black skinned people originally from Mali to enjoy some Gnawa music. Afterwards, we will drive through an off-road to visit a nomad family and discover their lifestyle.

    Then, we continue our way until we reach a shade of a typical “Acacia tree” to have lunch which will last for one hour and a half. In the afternoon, we will head back to the Hotel to have a cup of minty tea and relax to get ready for the camel ride to the camp in the heart of the desert, that will take around 1h: 30min enjoying the beauty of the dunes and attending an incredibly memorable sunset in one of the highest sand dunes in the desert for a high satisfaction and doing some sand boarding. 

    After the dinner is served, you will enjoy some amazing Berber music with different dances under a starry sky. Night in Berber nomad tents.

    Day 5: Merzouga– Rissani – Alnif – Nkoub – Draa Valley – Ouarazazte

    We will make sure to wake you up early in order to watch the spectacular view of sunrise from the top of the dunes. Once again you will have the chance to enjoy the camel trek back to your Hotel. After showering, you will enjoy a special Moroccan breakfast.

    We leave for Rissani where locals gather in a huge Souk for trading all kinds of crafts, food and animals. After that, we will head to Nkoub passing through Alnif and enjoying its panoramic views of oases and palm groves along the way.

    After having lunch in a local restaurant in Nkoub, we will continue the way to Ouarzazate crossing Draa Valley, the longest River in Morocco (860miles). Arrival in Ouarzazate where we will spend the night at the Hotel.

    Day 6: Ouarzazate –Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

    After breakfast, we drive to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is recognized by the UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 1986, and has been the backdrop for many international movies including The Game of Thrones and Gladiator.

    Afterwards, we will set off for Marrakech via Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains with a stop to visit a cooperative of ARGAN Oil and learn about its benefits and have free time for lunch in a local restaurant. Arrival in Marrakech, accommodation at the Hotel/Riad.

    Day 7: Marrakech – Airport

    Breakfast and free time until the transfer time to the airport.

      Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Gorges

      This tour will start by Picking you up from the Hotel / Riad where you are staying in Marrakech, and drive towards  Dades Gorges crossing Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m altitude), with stops to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Berber villages. Arrive in the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou which is recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage as a historical site.

      In this spectacular setting, many films have been produced as “Gladiator”,” the Jewel of the Nile”…, you will have free time for lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will continue the trip to Ouarzazate, which is considered the great gateway to the desert.

      Following the thousands of Kasbahs along the way, we will visit the Great Kasbah of Taourirt, we will continue towards the Valley of Roses passing through the great palm grove of Skoura and Boumalne until arriving at the Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

      Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert

      After having breakfast, we will head to Merzouga passing by Dades Gorges to enjoy the panoramic view of the Dades Valley. Following the route, we will reach one of the southern strongholds: Todra Gorges, where we will walk through marvelous Canyons and enormous walls of great beauty that reach almost 300m high, and offer a great opportunity for mountain climbers to enjoy the fabulous views of this stunning place and take photos along the way.

      Then, we continue the way to get Tinejdad where you will have free time for Lunch and to Erfoud with a stop to visit a local fossil craft workshop. Afterwards, we continue the route until we reach the impressive Merzouga dunes where we will have a minty tea of ​​hospitality while relaxing.

      We will leave the luggage and get ready for the camel ride to the camp in the heart of the desert, that will take around 1h: 30min enjoying the beauty of the dunes and witnessing an incredibly memorable sunset in one of the highest sand dunes in the desert and  spend unforgettable moments doing some sand boarding. 

      After the dinner is served, you will be requested to gather around a fire in the middle of the dunes to enjoy some amazing Berber music with different dances under a starry sky.

      Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Azrou – Fes

      We will make sure to wake you up early in order to watch the spectacular view of sunrise from the top of the dunes. Once again you will have the chance to enjoy the camel trek back to your Hotel.

We continue the way to reach our destination in Fes the cultural capital of Morocco. Here we make sure you reach your accommodation in Fes.
